Mrs. Gerber grew up in a small cornfield outside Chicago, IL. She grew up loving softball and swimming, the Chicago Cubs, and reading anything she could get her hands on! In a million years, she would've never expected to grow up and become a teacher one day, let alone a media specialist. Besides growing up in Illinois, she attended college at Miami University in Ohio, where she became a die-hard hockey fan and received her Early Childhood Education degree in 2004. After working at a daycare for a year and the loss of a friend, she decided to go back to school at Wright State University where she earned her Masters of Education in Library/Media Education in 2006. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Oklahoma where she found her first teaching job: a 2nd Grade teacher! After only 1 year in the classroom, she was lucky enough to move into her school's media specialist position where she would spend the next 3 years. She loved the classroom, but knew the library was where she was always meant to be! In Oklahoma, she got married, had a handsome baby boy named Jackson, and fell in love with being a librarian! Soon after her husband graduated from Oklahoma State University, they moved to South Carolina, where they've been for the last 2 years. Since moving to South Carolina, she has been voted Oakwood-Windsor Elementary School's 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year and has absolutely fallen in love with SC! When she's not spending time at school, you can find her chasing her 2 1/2 year old around a park, reading with him, playing games with her husband, going to the movies with friends, or enjoying the wonderful SC weather!

Hello! My name is Mrs. Kaye and I am the media specialists at Bethel Elementary. I am originally from Brimfield, Ohio and came to live in the south during my freshman year of college at Lenoir-Rhyne in Hickory, North Carolina. I met my husband while getting my undergrad degree in Elementary Education. After graduation Greg and I married and move to Greenville, South Carolina.
I taught 1st grade at Laurens Primary then two more years at Greenview Elementary. My third year of teaching we moved to Easley, South Carolina and I taught 3rd grade at Spearman Elementary for three years.
I have three boys. Camden was born in 2003, Carter was born in 2005, and Cayson was born in 2010. While staying home with my boys in 2006, I decided to go back to school to get my master's degree in Library and Information Science at USC. I graduated in May of 2008, and enjoy working with and teaching students in the library.
Currently I enjoy spending time with my husband and three boys, playing with my cocker spaniel, Harley, and my Cavalier, Mackenzi. When I have a few minutes to myself I enjoy reading, scrapbooking and doing aerobics.
